I didn´t like the planes Included (trainers) in the school class, so I bought the ASK21, and the ASW19b for the Club class, the rest of the classes are all pretty good, and It´s all a matter of taste too, at least at first. The standard version (prices are without tax) which is the one I have is good enough, you only get more planes in the Pro version, you can still buy them separately which is nice too.

There is a school section, and a manual but not everything is in depth.

I am still in the learning proceses, I have to learn how to set-up the water tanks, CG´s and MC´s of the plane I am flying but It´s all good fun. In Condor 2 your flying, in other civil flight sims your going from A to B, and simulating procedures. I guess that´s why I like it, and because it´s one of the most purist ways of flight along with paragliding. It´s a bit like acro formation flying were you have to be focused on each movement you do. There is a technique to everything you do, so you do need to learn the ropes In order to be efficient in your flight, which for me is part of the fun too. If you hit the "H" key, you get visuals of the thermals as a help cue if needed. Your a constantly being asked for your Input by the plane handling, weather, thermals and so on. and that´s the challenge, the plane doesn't fly on it´s own like other sims. Your basically climbing in circles once you hit a thermal, ridge riding etc. It´s quite difficult to maintain the glider steady, and keep a good angle on turns. No demo i don’t think… but good news for gliding pilots.I copied this from another post I did here on SimHQ (What are your playing).Ĭondor 2 runs very good on my old i5. Its not cheap - 49.99 Euro and from what i can see its more like Condor 1.5 - no VR support, no 6DOF and some fairly low-poly models, but there’s been some improvements to the weather model, especially visible lenticular clouds which really help with wave flying and clouds casting shadows on the ground, which makes quite a visual difference but worth a look if you are into soaring. They released plane pack DLCs and there was a strong community making third-party scenery for free or commercially (some of it pretty good) and there is a strong multiplayer racing community too.įor maybe the past decade there’s been talk of a Condor 2 and I’d check in on the forum from time to time, to see if any progress had been made (never expecting any - seemed like vaporware) but blow me down, this weekend I saw videos! Hi all, not sure if there’s many soaring pilots here, but i was astounded to see Condor 2 has recently been released: Ĭondor: Soaring Simulator was released in 2005 and I (and pilots i knew) flew it for years for training and entertainment purposes.
